Development Engineer – Job Description
Position: Development Engineer
Department: Development
Reports To: Development Manager / Production Head
Key Responsibilities
• Support new product development and trial planning.
• Coordinate with customer, quality and production departments for new parts.
• Study customer drawings, specifications and technical requirements.
• Prepare trial plans, process flow, and control plans.
• Monitor trial production and collect trial data.
• Analyze defects and suggest process improvements.
• Prepare PPAP documents and development records.
• Support pattern, core box and tooling development.
• Maintain development activity reports.
Quality & Safety
• Ensure new product trials meet customer quality standards.
• Follow safety procedures during trials and development activities.
• Support internal audits and safety training.
Cost & Efficiency
• Reduce trial rejections and development cost.
• Improve process capability and product quality.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Competencies
• Basic knowledge of foundry manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read customer drawings and technical standards.
• Basic understanding of PPAP, APQP and quality tools.
• MS Excel and reporting skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
Qualification & Experience
• Diploma / B.E. Mechanical / Foundry Technology.
• 0 to 2 years experience in foundry development / NPD activities.
Salary & Benefits
• Salary Range: ₹23,500 to ₹25,000 per month (Based on experience & skill)
