Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated fresher or a candidate with up to 2 years of foundry experience to support and supervise moulding operations in our foundry. The role involves assisting in day-to-day moulding activities, ensuring quality mould preparation, maintaining safety standards, and learning process improvements under senior guidance.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in supervising daily moulding activities such as sand preparation, mould making, and core setting.
• Support production targets related to quality, quantity, and delivery schedules.
• Guide moulding workers during shifts and help in task allocation.
• Check basic moulding sand parameters (moisture, strength, permeability) with support from seniors.
• Inspect moulds visually to identify common defects and report issues.
• Coordinate with maintenance and tooling teams for smooth machine operation.
• Ensure proper use and storage of moulding materials, tools, and patterns.
• Follow and promote workplace safety practices and PPE usage.
• Maintain basic production and manpower records.
• Coordinate with quality, melting, and finishing departments for smooth workflow.
Qualifications and Skills
• Diploma / ITI / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or related field (preferred).
• Fresher or up to 2 years of experience in foundry moulding operations.
• Basic knowledge of sand moulding processes (silicasand / no-bake preferred).
• Willingness to learn moulding machines, patterns, and production processes.
• Ability to understand basic drawings and work instructions.
• Good communication and team coordination skills.
• Awareness of safety practices in an industrial environment.
• Basic computer knowledge (MS Office preferred).
Working Conditions
• Work in a foundry environment involving heat, dust, and noise.
• Mandatory use of PPE (helmet, gloves, safety shoes, goggles).
• Standing for long hours and assisting in handling moulding materials.
Preferred (Not Mandatory)
• Foundry-related training or apprenticeship
• Basic safety or first-aid training
• Interest in continuous improvement and production efficiency
