We are seeking Senior Electrical Engineer in the maintenance section is responsible for the leadership, reliability, and continuous improvement of all electrical systems. This role is a combination of hands-on technical expertise, team management, and strategic planning.
Roles
The senior electrical engineer holds a multifaceted role in the foundry's maintenance operations.
· Team leader: Supervises and mentors junior engineers and technicians, assigning and overseeing maintenance and repair tasks.
· Technical expert: Serves as the highest level of technical authority for complex electrical and electronic systems within the plant.
· Strategic planner: Develops and refines maintenance strategies, such as preventive and predictive maintenance programs, to maximize equipment reliability.
· Project manager: Oversees the electrical aspects of new equipment installation, upgrades, and commissioning projects.
· Safety auditor: Ensures all electrical work complies with stringent safety regulations and protocols specific to the heavy industry environment.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of a senior electrical engineer cover all phases of electrical system management.
· Maintenance management: Plans, schedules, and oversees all electrical maintenance activities, including corrective repairs and routine inspections.
· Troubleshooting and repair: Diagnoses and resolves complex electrical issues in critical equipment, such as induction furnaces, cranes, and molding lines, to minimize downtime. This includes proficiency with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and other control systems.
· Root cause analysis (RCA): Conducts detailed investigations into equipment failures to prevent future recurrences and improve long-term reliability.
· Spare parts management: Works with stores and procurement to manage inventory levels of critical electrical spares, anticipating needs and controlling costs.
· Documentation and reporting: Maintains accurate maintenance records, generates reports on equipment performance, and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) like Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
· Budgeting: Assists in developing and managing the annual maintenance budget for the electrical section.
· Compliance: Ensures all electrical systems and procedures meet statutory and environmental standards.
Authority
The senior electrical engineer is granted significant authority to ensure effective maintenance and operational continuity.
· Technical decision-making: Possesses the authority to approve technical solutions and direct the maintenance approach for all electrical equipment.
· Team supervision: Manages and directs the daily activities of electrical technicians and junior engineers, including task assignment, performance evaluation, and disciplinary action.
· Vendor coordination: Can select and coordinate with external contractors and suppliers for specialized services, equipment purchases, or repairs.
· Procedure implementation: Is authorized to develop, implement, and enforce maintenance procedures and safety protocols for the electrical team.
· Shutdown planning: Has the authority to plan, coordinate, and execute electrical work during planned shutdowns.
