Melting Manager / Production Manager

(Plant / Foundry location of Aditya Castalloys Pvt Ltd wai )

To supervise the melting operations to ensure high‐quality molten metal is produced safely, efficiently, and at required specs; to lead shift teams; control process parameters; maintain safety & environmental compliance; contribute to productivity, cost control, and continuous improvement.

 Oversee all melting operations during assigned shifts, including preparation, melting, refining, alloying, and transfer of molten metal.

 Ensure raw materials (scraps, alloy additions, fluxes, etc.) are correctly selected, weighed, charged, and processed per specifications.

 Monitor furnace parameters: temperature, furnace lining condition, slag control, melt chemistry/composition, and thermal efficiency.

 Coordinate with Quality Control to ensure molten metal meets standards (chemical composition, cleanliness, gas content, etc.).

 Maintain records of melting operations: heat reports, consumption of raw materials, energy usage, yield, rejection / scrap percentage.

 Lead, supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of operators, helpers, and team members in the melting area.

 Ensure safety protocols are followed: PPE, permits, handling of molten metal, hot‐zones, emergency procedures.

 Schedule and ensure preventive maintenance on melting furnaces, ladles, transfer equipment and associated tools.

 Implement housekeeping, 5S/6S, and visual management in melting shop.

Monitor shift targets: output, quality, cost, downtime; escalate issues, and propose corrective actions.

 Participate in continuous improvement initiatives: process optimization, yield improvements, energy saving, defect reduction.

 Coordinate with other departments (molding, casting, maintenance, quality, planning) for smooth workflow and timely delivery.

 Conduct shift‐handovers clearly, communicate issues to next shift/supervisor.

 Diploma / Degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, Foundry Technology or related field.

 Experience: minimum **X years** in foundry melting operations; with **Y years** in supervisory role. (For example, 3‑5 years’ foundry experience, 1‑2 years supervisor.)

 Strong understanding of furnace operations (e.g. induction, cupola, electric, etc.), melt chemistry, refractory/lining maintenance.
